Vocal production studio Toronto — Lush Records booth

Vocal Production Toronto

Vocal production in Toronto for
hip-hop, pop, R&B, Spanish —
produced vocals, yours to roll out.

Every genre welcome. Every style covered.

A producer in the room with you shaping the vocal, layering the stacks, running the arrangement. Walk out with the produced song AND the optional full multicam session — you own the edit, you own the rollout.

Vocal production is the step between a recorded take and a finished record. It's the producer in the booth listening for the line you should sing twice. It's the stack that goes three octaves deep on the chorus. It's the harmony that shouldn't be there and then is there and suddenly the song is a song. Lush Records runs producer-led vocal production sessions out of the same vocal booth we cut commercial records in — Sony C800G for power vocals, Neumann U87 for melodic leads, Neve 1073SPX preamp, Tube-Tech CL1B compression. The difference is a producer's fingerprints on the arrangement, not just an engineer capturing takes.

Why Lush for Vocal Production

Built for the produced vocal.

Producer-first, engineer-second

Our vocal producer hears the arrangement before the signal path. That's the right ear for vocal production — production direction first, capture second.

Logic Pro templates built for stacking

Color-coded sessions, pre-set busing, vocal-stack routing already configured — the internal Lush Records Logic templates are built for layering from the first take, and the whole team works off the same template.

Signature: vocal stacks

Chorus doubles, harmony layers, ad-lib beds, whisper tracks — the signature Lush vocal-production pass is the layered record that sounds bigger than the session actually was.

Fuel for the content flood

Optional multi-cam captures the production pass — producer direction, stack builds, the moment the harmony lands. The full session delivered to you; cut your own reels, or add an edit package at checkout.

The Setup

Two chains for the produced vocal.

Neumann U87 for lead melodic vocals — the midrange warmth sits where pop and R&B leads live. The Sony C800G comes in for doubled-up power vocals, ad-libs, and bridge punches that need extra upper-mid air. Both run through the Neve 1073SPX and Tube-Tech CL1B. Sessions are tracked in Logic Pro on the internal Lush template — color-coded, bus-routed, stack-organized from the first take.

Who You'll Work With

Producer in the room. Engineer on the board.

Producer + Engineer
Logic Pro lead — stacks + layering

Vocal production sessions run with a senior producer from the Lush Records team — producer first, engineer second, fluent in the Logic workflow and the color-coded session organization the whole room works from. Pop, R&B, and vocal-stacked records are the home lanes. Your session gets routed to the producer best fit for the record.

FAQ

Vocal production sessions at Lush.

What's the difference between a recording session and a vocal production session?

A recording session captures takes — you walk in with a song ready, we track and comp it. A vocal production session is collaborative — our vocal producer is in the session shaping the vocal with you. Stacks, harmonies, arrangement ideas, ad-lib placement, performance direction. You leave with a produced vocal, not just a tracked one.

Can I bring in a songwriter or co-writer?

Yes. Vocal production sessions often run with a writer in the room — the producer shapes performance while the writer shapes lyrics. Larger rooms (the 777 Lobby) are available for collaborative sessions that need more than the booth + control room.

Do you charge a separate producer fee on top of the session?

Vocal recording blocks are flat at $75/hr with a 2-hour minimum — engineer included, no separate fee. For custom production work (beat-building, full track arrangement, co-production) we quote per-project after a brief — use the custom production intake on any producer's profile page.
